Transferring a domain (EPP code)
Move your domain to us or away to another provider: the lock, the EPP code and the process step by step.
Domains and DNS · 2 min read
You can move your domain from your current provider to us and manage everything from one panel. As long as your DNS records stay the same, your website and email keep working during the transfer.
Moving a domain to us
Check before you transfer
- At least 60 days must usually have passed since the domain was registered or last transferred.
- The domain must not be expired; if it expires within days, renewing first is safer.
- Make sure the registrant (WHOIS) email address is yours and reachable; approval emails may be sent there.
Steps

- At your current provider remove the transfer lock and get the EPP / transfer code (auth code). If privacy protection blocks the approval email, turn it off temporarily.
- On our site open Domains › Domain transfer and enter your domain.
- If the result says it is transferable, click Add transfer to cart and enter the EPP code.
- Complete the cart and pay (see Payment methods). Approve the confirmation email if you receive one.
Depending on the extension and the previous provider’s approval, a transfer usually completes within a few hours to 5–7 days. Follow its status under My domains in the customer panel. On most extensions the transfer fee adds one year to the domain; exact prices are on the Pricing page.
While the transfer is in progress: don’t change nameservers. If your DNS records stay as they are, visitors see no interruption.
Moving a domain away to another provider
- Open your domain from My domains and go to the Manage tab.
- Turn the Transfer lock switch off.
- In the Transfer (EPP) code box click Show code and give the code to the new provider (see Nameservers, transfer lock and WHOIS privacy).
- Start the transfer at the new provider and answer the approval email.
.tr domains
Extensions such as .com.tr are handled through the national registry and the steps may differ. Open a ticket for these domains and we will guide you through it.
